And, so that our clients will know how and where their money is invested and spent, we have a total-transparency policy. Our books are open and the true value of any event can be assessed – the only surprises are pleasant ones!

About Maria Lemos

Maria is the owner and founder of Sustainable Side of the Street a Portuguese company for Responsible Tourism created in July 2007.

With a Postgraduate Certificate in Conference Management, awarded by the University of Westminster (2006) she has been working in the Meetings Industry since 2004.

Prior to that she worked as a chemical engineer for a Portuguese oil company in the assessment of the quality of liquid effluents.

Maria is a Special Advisor to Travelmole VISION on Sustainable Tourism.

She has been specifically identified as meeting and event industry leader by Meeting Professionals International (MPI).

Maria has a «International English Language Testing System» (IELTS) certificate, awarded by the British Council Lisbon, and a «Diplôme de Litérature Moderne» awarded by «Alliance Française de Lisbonne»: French is her second language and English the third language.

She decided to change to tourism because tourism is a social field.

Maria enjoys reading and art in all its expressions. In the website of her company, designed mostly by herself, she added artists that she found interesting and somehow related to sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
